Why flexible HBC solar?

High-efficiency HBC cells are encapsulated in durable ETFE film. The flexible array creates power and shade in one system, while individually fused cells help the remaining array continue producing if a cell is damaged.

Installation options

Install it yourself with the step-by-step manual and two people, or book professional installation at our Ferntree Gully workshop. Typical workshop installation takes 6–9 hours; final pricing depends on your van and electrical setup.

Full product overview

The Flexible Solar Awning delivers premium electric shade and high-output solar generation in a single unit. High-efficiency HBC cells encapsulated in ETFE film convert more sunlight into usable energy than traditional cells, and continue producing usefully in changing light and partial shade.

Because the array lives on the awning rather than the roof, you free up valuable roof space for air conditioners, hatches, antennas and storage. Airflow under the extended awning also helps the cells run cooler than roof-mounted panels, which reduces heat-related efficiency loss.

Built for Australian conditions. The awning has completed two laps of Australia with no loss in performance. Every solar cell is individually fused, so if a cell is damaged its fuse isolates only that cell and the rest of the array keeps generating. This also helps protect your battery system.

Construction. Heavy-duty aluminium hardware in black or silver, wall-mounted plates for flat surfaces, 2.3m extension with 100% UV blockage, and a compact 14cm thickness when retracted. Dual white and amber LED light strips are integrated for evenings outside.

Accessories. Compatible with most standard awning accessories including side walls, privacy screens, roof rafters, support poles and tie-downs. Retrofit anti-flap kit adaptors are also available.

Value. For around the price of a premium electric awning, you get up to 1050W of integrated solar. Compared with buying an electric awning plus a separate 1050W solar array, the price difference is minimal, and you keep your roof free.

THE NEXT GENERATION OF OFF-GRID POWER

More freedom. Less roof clutter.

The world’s first rollable solar awning combines premium electric shade with a high-output flexible solar array. It can integrate with 12V, 24V and 48V battery systems when paired with a correctly sized MPPT controller, while leaving your caravan roof available for vents, storage and other equipment.

Its omnidirectional HBC cells capture diffuse and angled light more effectively, delivering excellent low-light and partial-shading performance. The cells are encapsulated in durable ETFE film for reliable generation in changing conditions.

Why travellers choose the Flexible Solar Awning

  • 12V, 24V and 48V ready

Choose 850W in 12ft or 1050W in 16ft. The awning can integrate with 12V, 24V or 48V battery systems using a correctly sized MPPT controller.

  • Omnidirectional HBC cells

The cell design captures light from more angles for excellent low-light and partial-shading performance. Each cell is individually fused, so damage to one does not stop the rest of the array.

  • Reclaim your roof

Move up to 1050W of solar off the roof and make space for air conditioners, hatches, antennas or storage.

  • Shade, light and comfort

Extend 2.3m for full shade with 100% UV blockage, plus integrated white and amber LED light strips for evenings outside.

Two sizes. One powerful idea.
