LooSeal FAQs – Everything You Need to Know

Whether you're replacing a cassette toilet or looking for a smarter off-grid toilet solution, LooSeal is designed to make life on the road cleaner, simpler, and more convenient. Unlike traditional chemical toilets, LooSeal uses heat-sealing technology to securely seal waste in biodegradable liner bags—eliminating the need for water, chemicals, or dump stations. Below are answers to some of the most common questions about the LooSeal range.

    Frequently Asked Questions

How does a LooSeal toilet work?

LooSeal toilets use a heat-sealing system that seals waste into a durable, airtight bioplastic liner after every use. The sealed bag is leakproof and odour-proof, allowing it to be disposed of in general household waste without handling the waste directly.

Does the LooSeal require water or chemicals?

No. LooSeal is completely water-free and chemical-free, making it ideal for caravans, motorhomes, boats, off-grid cabins, tiny homes, and remote camping.

Do I need to visit dump stations?

No. Because every use is individually sealed, there are no waste cassettes to empty. Simply remove the sealed liner and dispose of it in general rubbish where permitted.

    Does it smell?

No. Once the sealing cycle is complete, waste is enclosed in an airtight bag that locks in odours and prevents leaks, keeping your bathroom fresh.

How long does the sealing cycle take?

Each sealing cycle takes approximately 90 seconds to complete.

How many uses do the liner rolls provide?

    • LooSeal Elite: Up to 70 uses per liner roll.
    • LooSeal Evo: Up to 35 uses per liner roll.

Actual usage may vary depending on how much liner is used per seal.

    Are the liner bags biodegradable?

Yes. LooSeal Bio Liners are made from biodegradable bioplastic. They remain leakproof and odour-proof for up to two weeks before naturally beginning to break down after approximately four weeks.

How long does the battery last?

A fully charged battery provides up to 100 sealing cycles on both the Elite and Evo models. Charging takes around 2.5 hours.

Can the LooSeal Elite replace my cassette toilet?

Yes. The LooSeal Elite has been designed as a replacement for many popular cassette toilets found in caravans and motorhomes. Installation brackets are available to suit a range of layouts and access doors.

Is the LooSeal suitable for boats and off-grid living?

Absolutely. With no plumbing, no water supply, and no chemicals required, LooSeal is ideal for boats, caravans, campervans, tiny homes, remote cabins, farms, and other off-grid applications.

    Is maintenance required?

Very little. Without plumbing, waste tanks, or chemicals, routine maintenance is minimal. Simply replace the liner roll when empty and keep the unit clean following the manufacturer's instructions.
